The Veil

Why does a bride wear a veil?

Is it to surprise her husband-to-be by her beauty?
*giggle*
NOPE!

It’s a picture!!!  A picture of a believer having the veil lifted from her eyes… to behold her BRIDEGROOM!!!
It’s a picture of being given access to GLORY!
Isn’t it BEAUTIFUL!?!

There are so many wonderful “veil” verses!
My very favorite is:

Hebrews 10:19-23
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the veil, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

I’ll never forget the very audible gasp of our ss kiddos after we read this verse to them and had them then flip over to Matthew 27:51, Mark 15:38, and Luke 23:45.  Pretty AWESOME!!!  THEY GOT IT!!!  Of course, all of this came on the heels of us going through the building of the tabernacle with them.  The veil separated the holy place from the MOST HOLY place… and the high priest could only enter ONCE a year…  and he had to keep going back… year after year…   But the flesh of Christ, THE HIGH PRIEST was torn ONCE AND FOR ALL so that we may FREELY and BOLDLY go before the throne of God and KNOW that He will extend His scepter to us!!!  We use the word “AWESOME” way too much these days… because this IS AWESOME… but the word does not do it justice!!!

Dig into the Word of God… study the Veil!  I guarantee… you will find delight within!!!  When you do, gush to me!  And if you have any questions, or topics to discuss… come on!!! ♥

“Within the veil I now would come,
Into the Holy Place to look upon Thy face.
I see such beauty there, no other can compare,
I worship Thee, my Lord, within the veil.”
